Electronic Power

For electricians or people with electrical / electronic conditioners knowledge.Power expert online, etc. VS UPS?
Does a UPS / Uninterruptible Power Supply a better and more cost-effective way to go? The Panamax and Monster, etc. just good marketing? So do have a UPS alrarms way to disable the audible? Thank you. I think to use with my plasma TV, stereo and computer.
A UPS will be more expensive because it has a battery, but offer only marginal benefits to protect your equipment against a power line conditioner. Both will stabilize the voltage line. Indeed, a controller is just the UPS without the battery. The only advantage of a UPS if you had a brownout / down it gives you problems time of hold-up to allow a clean shutdown – if you have a home theater PC or media server for example. But if this is an ongoing problem, I'd be on Listening to your utility or look in a wiring fault to find the cause. While Monster is a waste of money (same goes for Belkin too, a monster wanna-be.) APC or similar is fine if you want one or the other.
